Entitled To His Entitlements?
What an interesting and in-depth expose popped up in the local papers today! It seems that one of our federal politicians is very likely to be indicted for fraud and fiscal malfeasance on a grand scale.
If Province reporter Elaine O'Connor has the story straight, Blair Wilson is a career sociopath who happened to choose the political arena in which to play his financial games. And he knows all about how to play the games -- he's a chartered accountant.
He's a member of the Liberal party. I'm not blaming the Liberals for that. He could just as easily have chosen the CPC. He would never have chosen the NDP, though -- they don't have a hope in hell of being in power anytime soon, and it's the power behind the political career that's important to people like Wilson.
I'm gonna be very interested to see what Stephane Dion does about this.

You say you don't blame the Liberals.
a) You seem to forget their recent record in attracting shady financial characters to the party.
b) There have been allegations about Wilson made public since at least March of 2006, according to the Western Standard's Shotgun blog.
Instead of vetting this guy, they made him a shadow minister of a financial portfolio.
How this doesn't reflect on the Liberal party, I don't know.
It just never ends does it...
Its a matter of instinct, its a matter of conditioning,
Its a matter of fact.
You can call me pavlovs dog.
Ring a bell and Ill salivate. howd you like that?
Dr. lendy tell me youre not just a pedagogue,
Cause right now im
Lying in bed just like Blair Wilson did
Well Im lying in bed just like Blair Wilson did.
The question is... who's bed is he lying in?
Hopefully Canadians will learn a lesson here and that is to vote for the person, not the party, when selecting an MP. This guy has good looks and charisma, but no record to run on. Voters saw a handsome face and a Liberal logo and checked the box. We all love to harp on how we live in a great democracy, but are all too lazy to do the due diligence that comes with the responsibility of voting. During his first (unsuccesful) election run, I met this clown Blair Wilson and did some asking around about him. The answers were not positive and as a result he did not get my vote. The next election he got voted in to my dismay, but I knew he would crash and burn eventually. It took a few years, but this Sunday was sweet justice.
Wait, aren't all politicians either sociopaths or psychopaths?
Dennis: a) I have not forgotten anything. The same can be said for the CPC or any other party. Money seems to attract the buggers; and b) if all this chicanery was so well known, how did he get by the voters? Are you saying they all voted for him because of his alleged shady dealings?
Tim: It doesn't seem to end, no. You're back in action? I'll be over later...
Anonymous: I've been talking against "party" politics for years. Trouble is, people are lazy. Voting a party line is lots easier than actually doing your homework on the individual candidate. But good for you for doing the work! Justice hasn't yet been served (although with his resignation, it seems to be on the way), but you're in an excellent position to crow!
Karen: Hey! That's my line! *snort* But seriously...some of them are more so than others...
Tim, yes you have forgotten things that have happened very recently.
Why not hold specific parties accountable for their own records on these things?
The voters didn't know about many of these allegations, since the Western Standard article was written AFTER the election.
The Liberals howl and scream over every single allegation thrown at the current government, while doing precisely nothing to address issues for which the voters sent them packing in the last election.
I meant Chimera. Sorry.
Am I back?... Perhaps... Not me forgetting anything... unless it is someones name... I'm terrible with names...
Show me a politician and I will show you someone with money in their pockets and more aptley their bank accounts that was not earned... it does not matter what political stripes they wear. The pod is green but the pea's inside are like a box of smarties... just not as sweet...
"Why not hold specific parties accountable for their own records on these things?"
Because the party can't serve a prison term, make restitution, apologize, or take credit for anything. A party is not a legal entity. It is just a skirt behind which the bastards can hide.
I prefer to go after the individual(s) responsible for any wrongdoing and make him (them) personally account for his (their) actions.
I hate generalizations.
Tim: Add this to your show-me list: Show me a politician and I'll show you someone whose motives need close examination.
