No Dessert For Me
On infrequent forays out to dinner with friends, I invariably hear at least one of them say, "No dessert for me, thanks. I can't afford it." And they usually lean back in the chair and pat a belly covered tautly by a shirt on the verge of ripping open from the strain. Can't afford the calories.
Now it's possible to say that and mean, literally, that you can't afford the dessert!
Is it too late to become a pastry chef?

This just goes to prove that some people have WAY too much money! Can you say CHARITIES IN NEED? But that does not go down as good as a brownie I guess.... how sad....
Note to Tim (and just about everybody who commented at the site linked above):
While I think that the concept of $1000 for a brownie is ridiculous -- not to mention I don't want to consume food dusted with any metallic bits -- every commenter seems to assume that it's an either/or situation. Like these people say "screw the poor, I'm spending my last grand on this geedunk!"
Perhaps they give a whole bunch to charity too?
I'm just sayin...
